Farsightedness
Farsightedness, also known as hyperopia, is the ability to focus on distant objects, but close-up objects appear unfocused or blurry. Farsightedness can occur at any age, but is symptomatic mostly in older people. In young people, the natural lens can sometimes correct the focus in farsighted eyes. With aging, the natural lens loses this ability and the vision blurs. This is why many farsighted patients do not become aware of their condition until they enter their 20s or 30s.
