Diabetic Eye Care
If you have diabetes mellitus, the high levels of sugar in the blood damages the vessels in the back of the eye. The damage to retinal vessels is referred to as diabetic retinopathy, and most of the time, a person with diabetes will not notice a change in their vision until the disease has advanced past an easily treated stage. Therefore, it is imperative that patients with diabetes receive routine eye exams.
At West Georgia Eye Care Center, our physicians have the latest diagnostic equipment to evaluate and photographically document any damage to the retina. Should treatment be required, we also have complete laser treatment facilities in our office. At West Georgia Eye Care Center, we are committed to decreasing the incidence of blindness from diabetic eye disease.
