Running is the great metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it. -Oprah Winfrey, talk show host and marathon finisher

West Georgia Eye Care Center knows that putting our support into local running events is a great way to invest and “put into” the community as well! WGECC is honored to support several Columbus and Valley Area running events that in turn support worthy causes for the community we serve. This year, we have sponsored Country’s Midnight Express, Big Dog Running Company’s Heat Wave for Mercy Med and the Soldier Marathon. Tomorrow’s run offers an opportunity to come together as runners while saying a meaningful “thank you” to those who provide our freedom.

The supportive runners of the Soldier Marathon know that the lives of soldiers, veterans, and their families are positively impacted by the investment runners make to participate in this marathon. Since its founding in 2010, the Solider Marathon has donated over $110,000 to worthy non-profits benefiting our military families. This year, the run will benefit The National Infantry Museum, House of Heroes, U.S. Army MWR, and Team RWB.
